Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Why would anyone go out of their way to prevent others from doing good works, from giving praise to God, or from coming to the aid of those in need? If we consider ourselves disciples of Jesus Christ, those are exactly the things we should be doing.
In the Gospel, Jesus makes it clear that anyone who is driving out demons in His name is doing His work and following Him, so there is no reason to stop them. On the other hand, those who should be stopped are the ones who choose to lead us to sin and stand in the way of love and compassion.
May we devote ourselves this week to being conduits of God’s mercy and grace, rather than roadblocks to those who desire to make a difference.
Peace,
Fr. Steve
