Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Please accept my heartfelt thanks for all the cards, gifts, prayers, and yummy treats that I received this Christmas season. Your continued generosity to the parish and to me personally is much appreciated.

2018 promises to be an exciting year for our parish family. Construction of our new parish center is progressing nicely.  What a blessing it will be to have this new facility up and running this coming spring!!

Peace,

Fr. Steve

12/17/2017 Third Sunday of Advent

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say rejoice.  Indeed, the Lord is near.

These are the words of the Entrance Antiphon on this Third Sunday of Advent. Our Responsorial Psalm refrain echoes a similar sentiment:

My soul rejoices in my God.

As the celebration of our Lord’s nativity is nearly a week away, we have every reason to rejoice over the goodness of our God, who never ceases to share his love and mercy with us.   May we never forget to allow our joy and thankfulness to be contagious.

Peace,
Fr. Steve

12/10/17 Second Sunday of Advent

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

When we think of Advent, we call to mind the two comings of Christ: his coming in glory at the end of time and his first coming over 2000 years ago, as a tiny child in Bethlehem.  Advent is a time for us to find God where he already is.  It is a time for us to repent and be reconciled, but better yet for us to go through recovery.  Anyone familiar with 12 step programs, knows that this is nothing we can do on own.  We need God to step in to provide us the recovery we so desperately need.  In Jesus, God’s creation is re-created and will ultimately be restored to perfection and glory.  Through our baptism, we are recreated and we recover what we lost though the sin of Adam and Eve.  Freed from original sin, we become grace-filled, adopted sons and daughters of God.  Everyday but especially during this season of hope and expectation, we have the opportunity to seek Jesus out and place ourselves in his hands, so that we might experience the healing and recovery he desires for us.

Peace,
Fr. Steve
