Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we begin the month of May, many of us have probably looked at our calendars and noticed how busy this time of year can be. Between weddings and graduations and other Spring celebrations, our increased activity dovetails beautifully with nature finally coming to life again. The trees are becoming green and bugs are back to flying and crawling around. Hopefully the weather has made up its mind to leave the blustery cold behind for a while.
Next month Bishop Gainer will ordain 6 men to the priesthood and I will, and its hard to believe, celebrate my 15th anniversary as a priest. We also look forward to June 10, when the Bishop will come to our parish to celebrate Mass and dedicate our new parish center. There is so much for us to be grateful for.
Saint John reminds us this weekend that God is love. We have been chosen, each and every one of us, to do amazing things in his Name. Being made in God’s image and likeness we remember that we are made not just to be loved, but to love. God has been so good to us. How, could we not express our gratitude, love, and affection, with total commitment of heart, mind and soul?
