While most parishioners aren't available to walk around the St. Peter campus during the week, allow me to tell you of the activity that is taking place. As mentioned last week, the necessary "borings" were ongoing in a number of places where the construction will begin this summer. If you were fortunate enough to be around when the new church was being constructed you will undoubtedly remember that there was lots of rock and surfaces were rather hard to penetrate. We had no miracles in the last 18 years whereas the rock (limestone) suddenly disappeared. Fortunately, the building committee was aware and the construction company and architect were prudent in their design of the new facility - meaning it is a design that takes into account that our surface is hard and may present some difficulty in digging. That is all good. Additionally, storm water testing also occurred and those results will be discussed in the coming week with the appropriate personnel - all items that are necessary for final approval to be granted by our township. As the wheels of production and construction all turn in sync, keep in mind that your thoughts and prayers for the success of this project continue to be front and center. When Fr. Steve returns, its back to business as usual, full steam ahead, in the silent phase of the capital campaign and the unveiling of the campaign parish wide! Just envision this - hopefully next year at this time while mass is going on, religious education classes will be happening in the new facility all the while a parish group may be preparing for the inaugural spaghetti & meatball dinner in the kitchen and social hall! It's a great vision!
